Defensive Tactics Instructor

Course Title:                           Defensive Tactics Instructor

Date:                                        July 23 – 26/August 6 -9 (Monday -Thursday each week - 80 hours)

Time:                                       0700 - 1800 hrs.


Course Description:     Successful completion of this course and an apprenticeship will qualify the student to receive his Department of Criminal Justice Services defensive tactics instructor certification.  This course is extremely physically demanding and all students must be in excellent physical condition, with no medical limitations.  The training course includes classroom instruction techniques, body physiology, and extensive practical training.


               Prerequisites:              All students enrolled in this course must have a general instructor certification.


Other Requirements:   All Cardinal Criminal Justice Academy member agency personnel must complete a 58 hour apprenticeship in an entry level class prior to receiving their defensive tactics instructor certification.


                                            Fee:                             No fee for member agency personnel.

                                                                               $700.00 for non-member agency personnel.

                                                                                Seating is very limited.

                                             In‑Service Credit:        36 hours of career development and 4 hours legal credit
