Course Title: Crisis Negotiators Basic Course (40 Hours)
Date: October 2 – October 6, 2017
Time: 0800 - 1700 hrs.
Course Description: This one week (40 hours) course is designed for law enforcement officers assigned to negotiate in a crisis situation (e.g. barricaded subjects, hostage situations, suicidal subjects). Applicants should be selected with the understanding that active participation in classroom and training scenarios is required. Attendees will be evaluated throughout the week, during practical application of basic concepts and a written exam at the end of the course. Course will cover the following: Fundamentals of crisis negotiation; Active listening skills; Abnormal psychology for negotiators; Negotiation team protocol and responsibilities; Crisis command structure and Case studies.
Course is limited to 20 students.
